May-day! May-day!

This is it. I am copying my sisters in the challenge for blogging every day for a month.
May one.
got back from another jaunt to San Angelo yesterday. we've been splitting a lot of our time between middle earth and San Angelo. my dear sweet husband has had a lot of job sites in the area between the two, and sometimes one town is more convenient than the other. SA is pretty cool. lively and artsy with cool little shops and boutiques etc.
i like going there.
but now i am back in greenwood, america. subbed today. nothing too eventful.
anistacio is a kid that i have had in lots of classes and can't quite get a bead on. he's quite, and a little weird. has a little thug swag to him with his black jeans and chain and flat billed hat. but hangs with some of the nerdier crowd. anyway, today we did popcorn style reading of chapter 10 in To Kill A Mockingbird and the first reader called on "staci" to read next.
Oh. My. Goodness.
that kid id the most entertaining reader i have ever heard. he used all the right inflection for the different characters and read in a quick cadence that suggested he reads a lot. not studdering and stamering over all the words. no sir. he read with style. i can't describe it very well, and i can't even mimic it very well. so you'll just have to take my word for it. then when he wanted to call on someone else the whole class, me included begged him to keep reading. you could see the compliment and encouragement building him up. it was remarkable. when class was over another kid told me, "i never would have thought anistacio had talent like that."
hah.
i think that was a little golden opportunity to validate him in the eyes of his peers and give him a little boost as well. God did that.

on the topic of clean eating:
i (we) have cheated a lot lately.it's like we fell of the wagon, and then our foot got caught in some dangling strap and now we have been bouncing along somewhat connected to the wagon but not on it. i think the two natural reactions are to beg to be cut loose entirely and left to tend to the bruised and sore self in a pile of snickers wrappers and potato chip crumbs. or to beg for someone to drag you back up into the wagon to find relief in the health and healing provided by the good-for-you stuff.
i find myself toggling between the two on a daily basis. and we're almost out of girl scout cooikes.... oh crap.so that combined with the scale either being broken or the reality of weight gain... i am pretty sure i'll bounce back up into the wagon pretty soon. oh yeah, and bathing suit season being upon us. oh yeah and the fact that i just want to be HEALTHY and not feel all bloaty and blobby and blah.

the dogs:
entertaining as always. they rode with me in the FJ to san angelo this last time. we had a good time together. hazel has started getting IN the trough every time she needs a drink. weird-o.
she and minnie are still like a big sister who hates her little sister's existance...

Welp. I am subbing most every day for the next couple weeks, so i will keep my eyes and ears peeled for some bloggable stories.
