grtsia - greece

the beach of the hotel was great. since the islands are so close together you feel more like it is a big salty lake. because there is land on the horizon all around - not the vast open blue like you'd imagine.

all of the worship and sermons were like a salve to my soul. i didn't want it to end most days. i just wanted to soak it all up as deeply as i could.
the classes and meetings were actually pretty sweet too.
seeing all the people i had been in training with and hearing how their year has gone and what all the Lord almighty is doing in their lives - precious
looking at the stars. (i saw a falling one)
listening to my friend play the guitar.
riding on the top level of the ferry to the next island.
drinking the smoothest coffee i've had in a long long long time....
laying in the warm sunshine.
eating healthy meals three times a day.
enjoying the company of others.
recognizing the vast sweetness that God has installed in our lives.
hearing truth.
singing.
singing truth.

all in all a pretty good week.

i think greece will be on my list of places to revisit with no agenda.

we stopped at a store on the way back and it threw me into culture shock. it was pretty much exactly like a big wal mart.... really, in a lot of ways, greece felt the closest to american culture that one could possibly experience on this side.

one part of the drive even looked like the area around sweetwater texas. hills/plains mix, windmill farm... tan and red dirt and rocks....
it had almost an uncanny essence of texas.
in greece! crazy.

we drove past mt. olympus. that was neat.

i will leave you with a few pictures

also... i did something i never thought i would do. singing in front of people terrifies me. and talent shows make me a little uncomfortable in general. but i got talked into it...
