may ten

today i was so over subbing for "study hall".
it was so chaotic. four days straight of trying to contain the adolescent energy of young teens that have been testing and being told to be quiet and still all week ended on a friday note that you might imagine.
whatever loose sense of control could have been perceived through Thursday was totally lost today.
it was all we could do (myself and the other study hall sub) to keep it together.
anyways. by the last 30 minutes of the day my job had been reduced to watching two junior boys sniff each others arm pits to try and find out which one of them was stinking. (my guess: it was both of them)

the rest of my day consisted of mowing the yard, scooping dog poop, running with the dogs, feeding the dogs, playing with the dogs, and cleaning a bathroom in pretty dire need of cleaning.
does anybody have a miracle solution for getting that white filmy stuff off of glass shower doors?

i am so glad it is the weekend. and i am so glad my husband might be coming back into town tomorrow.
i am going to sleep in like a college student tomorrow.
it's going to be great.

my project list is still pretty long - maybe, just maybe, i will knock out something tomorrow.

i was thinking about my old roommate melissa the other night. she was an incredible woman. i still am amazed at the depth and breadth of her reach and impact. and the most amazing part is that "her impact" was really Christ in her. it really got me thinking about how much i want my life to leave a mark like that.
the challenge right now has been that i feel like i am not really in peoples' lives. but - i think what i have been pondering is that maybe it is a season of introspection and one-on-oneness with God to prepare to be poured out in whatever the next step is.
hmmm.

so that's pretty much it for today.
stinky boys. dogs. bathrooms. introspection.
