i was so upset today. i tried to talk myself into the fact that it is just a bike... but it just blew my mind how someone could come onto someone else's front porch and take something. NOT YOURS! and that it happened to be my pride and joy project bike that was missing... i was so upset.
i texted my friend to tell her that i think my bike got stolen.
she said her room mate saw it on the rack in front of the gym.
part of me wondered if i had ridden my bike to the gym and then forgot and walked home...
but most of me thought that i would find my bike locked up with another lock. i had a vision of sitting there and waiting for the perp to reveal himself. then i would either
a. confront him upon arrival to the rack
b. wait until he unlocked the bike and then confront him
c. wait until he mounted and began to ride off then pursue and push. then take the bike back, of course.
however. i arrived and it was my lock securing the ride to the rack.
i had, indeed, left it. poor little bike. abandoned. no shelter, all alone in the rain....
so sad.
but he is safe at home now.
yesterday i went jeans shopping.
i HATE jeans shopping.
it always just makes me depressed.
but i stopped by goodwill for a little leisurely gandering.
i found a pair of jeans that looked like they hadn't been worn. went ahead and tried them on. perfect!
all i was missing was two differently shaped girlfriends to share that moment with.
seriously.
you can not beat $4 jeans that fit GREAT.
AND it was a bonus goodwill trip because i came upon this little jewel:
I LOVE LAMP.
do you really love lamp.....?
YES. i have a new addiction.
all i want to do if find cool old lamps and buy them.
and cool old bikes and restore them.
and cool old furniture and refurbish it.
how can i take this and put it under the Lordship of Christ. what does this passion have to do with the Gospel and how can it be a part of sharing it?

Interesting...on my mission trips..I have seen the power of craftmanship to raise funds for missions and other works...
you are such a talented artist and have such a great heart for Him...I am sure you could use this new found passion for Him (a Craftsman/Carpenter Himself)...
God Bless...
So...your question is how you convert the redemption of discarded or otherwise used-up objects into a revitalized, useful object....
Call me crazy, but that's Gospel in a nutshell. God has set out to reconcile all things to himself through the blood of Christ on the cross, such that even the creation (which groans for redemption - Roms 8:22-24) will be renewed by his coming. Col 1:19-20, 2 Cor 5:11-6:13.
;)
HA! How do you forget you rode your bike??? HAHAHA! Oh em....
I love lamp too. That's a good one.
i have a blogreader updater thing! i am so going to keep up with you... and this lamp is by far no the best one you brought home this past year. it's kinda sad, but i am considering taking brown bag lamp with me to richmond and asking amanda to occasionally change the lamp shade.
