today is "the thin man" marathon in the Harrison house.it's not a Christmas tradition .... YET.
I cannot express how much I love the Thin Man movies.
If you have not seen any of them - you MUST,
the sharp wit and clever plots. they sure don't make 'em like that anymore.
speaking of sharp wit....
last night our family got together and celebrated a little Christmas. including my sister and my brother in law that are in Hawaii.
the little brother in law competition between the two of mine is hilarious.
one says "hey do you know what the official small animal is for the stat of texas?"
the other "the next deer you're going to shoot?"
Bahahahahh!
one gets the ham from the oven to show us on skype. the other asks why he's using oven-mitts. HAh!
this year was the gift of knowlege
we all learned:
the islands of hawaii
the hawaiin state fish : humuhumunukunukuapua'a
lots of hawaiin words
how to tie a fisherman's bend knot
what is a mule
how to build a donut shop from legos
about baby animals from the baby animal book
how to do a summersalt
how to "butt walk" just is case you ever lose mobility in arms and legs....
and how to draw a tree
it's a beautiful sunny day in lubbock texas. highs in the 50s.
i might just go enjoy it.

GREAT photos. Per usual. It was really cool to see it from ya'lls side of the computer/tv. As sad as it is to not be there, skype bridges a lot of the gap.
Gift of knowledge was GREAT. I loved every single one.
