yep. it really snowed today. from 2-8 we got inches upon inches. i was up past my ankles when i was walking home a bit ago... it is so so pretty.
my friend happened to have sweetened condensed milk so snow ice cream was a highlight of my day.
this morning we had a rummage sale for the roma.
we took all the donated clothes (about 50 medium boxed FULL) and sold them for dirt cheap to help with the money for the center that we have to host Bible studies and sewing sessions for women.
it went okay, but we have so much left over. so monday we are saying 50 denar (slightly over a dollar) for a grocery bag and take whatever you can fit into it... liquidation sale of sorts. and then whatever is left after that will be given to a few men to take and sell for themselves.
it brought me back the the garage sale-ing days of yore. thinking back, i have been a part of a LOT of garage sales. my sister is the queen of selling all our old junk. the last time she got to the end and said, 'everything's a quarter'. you would not believe what some people walked away with for a quarter. i wish i had been shopping that day and the stuff wasn't all of our old purging items.
i think some of my favorite garage sale items i have purchased include:
a swivel rocking arm chair - 5 dollars
8 foot long black pleather couch - free
retro drinking glasses - 50 cents each
giant mod green glass vase - 4 dollars
yellow square pillow with fringe around the edges (even brought it overseas...) - free
i miss garage sale-ing.

and i've never had snow ice cream.... sounds yummy.... jealous a little. ;)
I've been singing the title song for days - snow here too. P.S. What is the recipe for snow ice cream? We're expecting more snow tomorrow and could use your expertise.
