this is the apartment i am staying in until i get my own. it's really nice.
there was some graffiti outside that read "EMIL" i thought 'hey, that's almost my name' but i didn't take a picture for you because there is a dirty picture underneath it... so oh well. some of the graffiti is fairly entertaining. my favorite is the one of the little girl flying through the air holding a kite string. that is soooo gangsta.

the city is growing on me by the minute. i've pent a lot of time walking the past couple days, so we have bonded a little. it's a lot like austin in a lot of ways.
but it's also unlike any place i've been before in so many more ways.

the driving is hilarious. and death defying.
here are a few general lessons i am glad i didn't learn the hard way:
pedestrians don't get the right of way.
and the sidewalk is less for walking and more for parking (60kph - 0kph in 1 second)
there are pet-dogs and there are street-dogs and there is a difference.
the bus will drive off whether you've completed exiting or not - so you better hurry up and get off.
/bes shaka/ can either mean 5 sugars or no sugar... just make sure you know what language they're hearing.
