10 October 2013

so i'm not a work-out fanatic or anything and i definitely dont want to be one of those people who talks about it all the time in order for you to think that i am fitter and healthier than i am.
that being said i am a little bit super pumped about an app i found today. i joke about there being an app for everything, but rarely remember to tap into the resource that is the app store.
anyhoo, a bout a year and a half ago i met a group of kettlebell people and really enjoyed meeting up with them semi-regularly to exercise. it was a really effective regiment for me in weight loss, but more so in gaining strength. i could tell after a couple months of going that i was stronger. it was a great feeling.
post wedding, i have been trying to keep up with it on my own, but there is something to be said for the community aspect of gyms and group workouts or buddies. MOTIVATE!!!
My wonderful mom and precious husband supplied me with a set of kettlebells for Christmas last year and since then my in-laws donated a treadmill to our little garage gym. and i got a jump rope and mat. so i am basically set!!!!
now if i could just get into a routine of 4-ish times a week.... yes..... that's the final step.
it's not that i want to be really thin or whatever. i feel like i've expressed this before. i just want to be healthy and STRONG. able. prepared to help and do.
blah blah blah.
anyway
APP
it is called Kettlebell Coach.
you pick your skill level and how much time you want to go. you can even select your limitations if you are injured or whatever (like lower back, shoulder range of motion.... etc) and then it will generate a workout for you. in the preview of the work out it shows you what exercises you'll do and there are video demos for each one!
then once you start the work out it times it all for you and gives you  "half way there" and "5 seconds to go" comments in an Arnold Schwarzenegger type voice. it is not exactly like having a workout buddy or even a real personal trainer - but i actually really enjoyed it (tried it for the first time today).

yadda yadda.

speaking of trying at stuff and not really succeeding fully. still not a full blown clean eater (read: i had 3 little bags of sweedish fish for a snack.... i don't even really like sweedish fish....)

i am coming up on a year of being married. more on that later.
the dogs are being dogs.
it was hot and windy today. blehhkch.
subbing is still a mix of funny and enjoyable with totally dismal and frustrating.

k. that's all i got for now.
bye.

Yay! Welcome back to the blogosphere. Cool sounding app for the workout stuff... I gotta get one of those. An app. And a motivation.
