LT DAN

i just put two pans of squash chips in the oven. it is my first real try at it. when i lived in macedonia a friend and i made eggplant chips a lot. it was usually about 20-30% successful. meaning there would be several really good ones and then the rest where too thick and spongy or burnt to a crisp. but the good ones were so good... mmmm...
anywho. i am going to take this opportunity to profess my love for the kitchen aide food processor that we were blessed with through MJ selecting it from our wedding registry. i. love. that. thing! i've used it mostly for salsa making and cheese grating. but this evening i dusted off the slicing accessory. and man oh man. anything that can be made into a slice just better look out! i was able to slice three squash from our garden in a matter of 5ish minutes and the slices are uniformly perfect! before i got the food processor down to give it a whirl i was trying to use the little slicer side of the cheese grater. it was proving to be too narrow for the squash and possibly too dull for the task. whatamess.
usually i am the type o gal that will say that it doesn't matter what gadgets you have or don't if you are resourceful and talented, you can make anything work for whatever you're trying to do. (don't forget the poor man's pizza pan) and i still say that's pretty right, but is sure does make things super easy what you have the proper equipment!

so, yeah. squash chips.

unrelated:
this afternoon our dogs started barking like crazy by the gate that is off our driveway. we went outside to see what was causing the comotion and there it was.
the most perfectly named corgi i ever did see. Lt Dan.
"you ain't got no legs!" hahahahahahahahahahaha.

our dogs are still a constant source of entertainment. always. i will leave you now with a few examples:
