a few of my favorite things.

well i am temporarily back in a cubicle. i don't know what it is - but i am suddenly hit with blogging fever again it must be cubi-land. the captivity forces expression. while in normal life i am free to express in multiple other ways - that's when blogging is least likely....

i moved into a recently vacated cube today. there's lots of leftover goodies in here. just this morning some of the locals pillaged the space leaving with arms loaded... but i was left with some awesome legal pads, a lamp with no bulb, a busted office chair, sticky notes, and some outdate calendars.
please don't think i am complaining, though.
two of the things listed happen to be two of my favorite office supplies. ever.
legal pads and sticky notes. they are amazing.
it's like when i get my hands on a blank legal pad i suddenly become a diligent and frequent note taker. i start organizing thoughts into lists and plans and goals.... it's like i am instantly on top of things. no more forgetting what i was doing, or why i walked into this room, or getting people's stories mixed up.
and sticky notes. genius! i want to marry the man who came up with supersticky-sticky notes. i will indiscriminantly use all colors available, but honestly my favorite is the bold yellow.
sticky notes inspire the spontaneous reminders for other people. reminders to have a great day or to enjoy their coffee. reminders to not touch things or where i left food or keys for them... they are a great match with my legal pad. because when i want to make special notes or if i have a last minute to-do to add to a formerly completed list - they are there for me. in their secure, yet removable, glory.
not to mention they are perfect canvases for flip-book cartoons.

another favorite office supply is those bull clips.

do you have any favorites?

staple removers: puppets, mistake removers, liberators, and ominous looking.

sign here tabs: insightful, powerful, demanding, and organized as they convey the message "sign here" with silent dignity. Imagine all the possible conflicts between humans that this brilliant invention has prevented by removing the redudant "Sign here, oops not there!..here's your sign"

i LOVE (good) colorful pens -- even better if I have matching hilighters or sticky notes!!

White out- not the old fashioned paint on kind, but the strip of white that you drag on top of the mistake like a long white sticker. Love it.
Also, the rolly magnetic paperclip dispenser. Always entertaining while incredibly efficient and effortless.
