fly away home

just as an update i did in fact win a game of corn hole this past weekend. granted - i was the most experienced of the players (if that tells you anything) but still. it was a solid win and i will take what i can get.
i have now moved on to getting whooped in ping pong on a regular basis.
i have won a total of two games of the past 12. Now, I am not terrible. but quite clearly there is a host of others that are much better than i.
today i got the privilege to play with this super cute old chinese couple that comes to our building every day to lay the smackdown.
it was fun.
they were keeping score in chinese and i lost track so i could have maybe won ... or probably not.

other than getting schooled in ping pong this day has been of a different color. a few heartbreaking encounters. a few goofy nerf gun episodes. a few billion calories consumed in the form of sweet rolls, biscuit rolls, bottomless chai tea, chipotle burritos, chips, peanut butter, cheese, diet coke...... and more.
it is now gearing up to storm and i am so excited. the thunder has started and the breeze is coming through the windows. oh so great.

i just found out that i will fo sho be going home for thanksgiving. it just dawned on me that it will be the first thanksgiving in two years to get to be home!
yay.
family.
love them.
miss them.

i'll probably have to challenge my brother in law to some horse shoes while i'm there. just so i can add another game to get beat at to my repertoire.

and i might ride a donkey.
