a very small world
so you know how i have been praying that God would let me know a macedonian here in bburg? and how He's been answering prayers left and right?
well, I was at the farmers market on saturday morning. i needed to go and get cucumbers (for sushi sunday... more on that later). usually i go on wednesdays - but this time saturday was better for my schedule.
i get to the market after declining an offer to do something else and go later. and i pass some people speaking a slavic tongue. i just knew it was pravo makedonski (true macedonian). so in macedonian i ask, "izvinete, od kade ste?" (excuse me where are you from?)
and it turns out.... MACEDONIA!!!!
and it gets even cooler.
it was a dad and daughter. the daughter and son are students here at VA Tech. the dad was visiting from Macedonia.
but wait....
we were next door neighbors when i lived there. literally. the dad lives in the house that is next to my apartment building.....
neighbors! never met until we both were in the tiny farmers' market of blacksburg, VA. crazy huh?
so this past weekend was pretty good all the way through.
friday was a spur of the moment road trip with what used to be a stranger. and finally put my latest project in its place... photos to come
saturday was meeting macedonians and eating at Gillies (amazing food - much like Kerbey Lane)
saturday also held a dinner and corn hole. corn hole is like horshoes... but not. never heard of it til i got here.... oh yeah also saturday was the transformation of an ordinary refrigerator box into a little club house.... for kids of course.
sunday was church and donuts and jogging and a make your own sushi party at mi casa....
all around. pretty great.
question:
has anyone read the book
radical?
the martyrs song?
or
the tale of three kings?

i've read the martyr's song. It was a few years ago, but I remember it being really good.
Also, LOVE that you met macedonians. and a former neighbor.
