waste not want not and divine bladder control

well, it's not like i have an dazzling adventure about which to tell you. but today had it's own moments of intrigue.
so i went to get blood drawn yet again.
i remember waking up and thinking man i'm thirsty. i should get a big cup of water. and then on the bus to the blood lab i thought, dang, i forgot to drink anything. i am so thirsty.
at the bus stop on the way home a man with more butt crack than i have ever been unfortunate enough to witness was picking up cigarette stumps from the ground and lighting them up. the only other people at the stop all were looking at each other with utter disgust.
when i went back home i downed a 1.5 liter bottle of water. it was satisfying.
i was walking to the bus stop and decided to call my friend to see if she was at work. planning to go visit her at work would determine which bus to take. but she wasn't she was home because it is her son's 8th birthday. so i walked all the way back home and grabbed a few bouncy balls, a little sack full of life savers and some smiley face stickers (shout out to mom for the care package with awesome kids' stuff in it.) so then i walked back to the bus station.
i had planned on getting a camera on the way to my friends house so i went the long way, but ended up changing my mind. oh well.
before i went to the birthday boy's i stopped by some other friends' to bring them some lemon cookies i had made and hopefully talk about their son accepting Christ the other day.
but it worked out differently to the Glory of God.
only the daughter in law was home. so i had a sweet uninterrupted time with just her for the first time ever. God is no doubt building up something there. we made plans to exchange recipes and cook together some day soon.
she let me try some of her crepes with marmalade. and of course coffee and juice.
then to the other house. they made me drink water with alka seltzer... why, i do not know.
then we went on a quest for a birthday cake for the son and after much walking (and she is sick sick sick, so she kept walking crooked and tripping on everything... it was not a nice walk. i tried to tell her to stay and rest and i'd find the cake... but she never let's me tell her what to do)
we returned home with no cake. all the bakeries were out or closed down. it was pretty disappointing. but before we even started walking i had to go to the bathroom pretty bad. i mean that 1.5 liters of water, coffee, juice and alka seltzer had pretty much maxed out my bladder's capacity. so as we walked and walked and walked. it was getting worse and worse and worse. if i had known how to say, 'can you keep a watch while i go behind these bushes?' i would have.
man.
then we got back to her house. i needed to leave right away to get to the blood place to pick up results, so i went. i called for a cab when i got to a major land marker, thinking this would expedite my finding a bathroom. but the company told me that they had no cars available. what? so i booked it the next 2 miles down a ton of stairs on the hill side through the park to where taxis usually hang out. there were none. so another half mile to the next taxi stop.
the driver sort of teased me for getting a taxi for that short of a ride, and i don't blame him. had i not been afraid that fast walking would rupture something or most definitely cause an accident, i would have definitely just walked the rest of the way.
oh well.
so i get to the lab, and the cleaning lady is working on the bathroom.
oh well.
so after i bustle on down to the bus stop to return home i find myself thinking 'oh lordie i hope i make it'
i wait and wait. then a stream of buses comes. but the first in line doesn't go to the furthest place to stop so this causes all four buses behind it to stop way far from the actual stop where people actually wait.
next thing i know i am jogging to the last bus in line with glorious relief mere minutes away... then the bus drives off. seriously. i was less than five feet from the door and he just jets.
maybe he didn't see me.
so i walk back to the actual bus stop to go sit for another 5-10 minutes. or maybe it was just 5 that felt like 10. oh the pain. it took a lot of strength to sit and wait instead of doing "the dance".

so finally next bus comes.

as i am power walking home from the bus stop (2.5 hours after the 'cake walk' when i really had to go) i sort of laugh as i am thanking the Lord for bladder control. laughing because it was a sincere gratitude.
