викендот во охрид

so i went to ohrid again this weekend. it was so crowded. really astonishing how many people flock in for summer vacay and weekend trips. people from all over this country and even all over the world.
there was live music everywhere. the house i stayed in was right next to an old church turned amphitheater. we sat outside and soaked in some live jazz for a bit last night.
basically i just went there for a breath of non-smog air.
on the way out i decided to put on my two favorite rings. i don't wear much jewelry or often, but it's been a rough past few weeks and i am encouraged by the sentiment behind these two particular pieces. so i wanted to wear them.
as i sat on the bus about 30 minutes into the drive, i looked at my henna stained hands and gasped, where are my rings?
seriously. i felt my heart simultaneously go into my throat and drop down to my stomach. i felt sick and stressed and so so sad.
maybe i put them in my bag...
nope.
gone forever.
i searched that bag, all its pockets my pants pockets... over and over and over. no rings.
gone.
where?
how?

i really have absolutely no memory of taking them off.

so sad.

today, though, as i thought about it some more, God brought to mind the parables of the lost coin and sheep...
oh how grateful i am that the one who goes after me finds me.

here are some photos of the weekend:
