recent conclusion:
anything with an iridescent label, i have an allergy to it.
i just recently ran out of my shampoo i brought from the states. (yes it has been four months. and yes i have been showering on a somewhat regular basis...don't worry about calculating just trust me) so i went to the grocery store and after observing all the labels i settled on the shiniest one with the best empty promise. 'up to 30% more shine'. first of all, i didn't know that the shine factor of hair was such a science as to warrant percentages... and second we all know that 'up to' includes the number zero.
anyways. long story short my face has been itching and peeling with dry skin for the past two days.
it brought me back to the time i got accosted by the bath and body works lady with the new 'shimmer' lotion. also with an iridescent label. also resulted in itching. then the 'goodmorning glow' face lotion. guilty on both counts. then the 'summer sun' tan in a can. check and check.
so the only logical conclusion is that i am allergic to iridescent labels.
and empty promises.
in other news, my life is transitioning yet again. language class stops tomorrow. i'm getting kicked to the curb. and next week i start working three days a week with some non english speaking friends, 6 hours a day. so i think i will be growing a lot and fast.
we will be serving lunch to the school kids at the Roma school we work with. I am really excited about it. we will also be teaching them about nutrition, hygiene and good character. we are not allowed to proselytize to children, so we are going to go with the route of teaching about honesty and sharing, and integrity, and kindness... so hopefully when these youngsters do get to hear about and accept Jesus, discipleship will have already begun.
there are 300 kids at the school i will be in and at their other location there are 100. not only is it great that there are this many roma kids in school, it is also a lot of inroads to homes and families and parents with which we are allowed to talk about the gospel. PtL
things are really moving right along on this side of the sphere.

I hope you teach them about iridescent labels.
I would suggest something like:
It is not kind to share "summer tan" in can with strangers.
