thanksgiving parade of a different kind

so i basically will consider this week thanksgiving week.
it was a parade of pumpkin foods and feeling full and get togethers.
monday was dinner number one.
we met with some roma friends at my supervisor's house and had 'american' traditional thanksgiving food. it was way fun. we still managed to work some 5/7 roma music in... so it wasn't a purist's version of the holiday. but we did go around and say things that we are thankful for:



then during one of my language classes i taught my tutor to make pumpkin pie. oh yeah, and the pumpkins here are shaped more like squash, but taste more like sweet potatoes. they are really good. anyways. we ate nearly the whole pie between the two of us. what?!?! that's part of thanksgiving.

then tonight we had yet another thanksgiving dinner. this time it was with some other coworkers in the city. there were about 22 of us in all. 10 adults, 12 kids...
we ate until i felt like i might just explode or pass out. yikes. seriously.
i had made pumpkin cinnamon rolls. but they were a mere fraction of a fraction of the food that was brought. holy moly.
we played charades, all of us were in a turkey and pie stuper, so it was pretty hilarious. then we played some family feud.
it was pretty fun. i got home and decided to walk to this coffee shop just so i could burn a few calories. seeing as how i ingested more than my and your share. ... sheesh.

anyways
thanksgiving the holiday has come and gone - but i think that it would be wise to make the conscious decision to be actively thankful every day.
but i also think it would be wise to leave the over-eating in the past and let that stay an annual event. (not including christmas dinner, of course.)
