today we had a speaker that joined the ranks of heart grippers.
this is number four in the past four weeks. but they aren't really ranked within themselves. they are all equally greatness.
i don't know if i have a diagnosable thing or what.... but anytime i am in the presence of greatness immeasurable amounts of tears start pouring out of my face.
the man who spoke to us today was on his way out of the building when he stopped t talk to my friend and me where we were sitting in the lobby. as he spoke, the look in his eyes and the sweet words coming from his mouth just overwhelmed me. it was glaringly obvious that he spends so so so much time with the father. it was like the holy spirit in me was awakened by the holy spirit in him and there was this sweet encounter of affirmation of faith and truth that occurred outside of the spoken conversation. i don't know if that is the best way to put it. but it was just like you could tell that this man lived and breathed the faith that he said he had and that God is a very real and very large part of his life. and so my heart was yelling YES! i agree and i want that, through and through i want that! i was encouraged beyond measure - even though his words were about a seemingly everyday event.
anyway all of these inner-workings of the spirit automatically make my eyes just stream forth rivers of tears. it's not like regular crying where there's that weird shutter breath thing when you breathe in, but it is just a silent waterwork show.
i just hate it when it catches the other person off guard and you can tell they sort of loose there train of thought when they realized that your eyes are all blood shoot and wet. but i am grateful that tears are never really a projectile type of excretion. THAT would be much more uncomfortable for everyone involved.
but the guy today didn't seem too disturbed.
he just talked for a little bit prayed for us, then left.
and i walked away with a brimming full heart ... and a very wet shirt sleeve.
