It was a bright and sunny afternoon. Jeff and Emily were busy in their garden and flowerbed, digging and planting and and going to and fro... Jeff dug holes and planted strawberries, lilies, knock out roses and blackberries. Then he attacked the dandelions that were growing rampant in the spaceous grassy lawn. When finished, he came into the house. washed his hands, sat down, and gasped.
Emily looked up to see him open mouthed looking at his hand. His hand has, for 4.5 months, donned a wedding ring. But now it was bare.

They searched the flower beds and the grass. But it seemed hopeless. The sun was setting and the light was waning.
After eating a good dinner, Jeff and Emily loaded up and went to town to go to Hobby Lobby. There they bought a metal detector and batteries. Upon their return they began the search again. Metal was being detected left and right... but no ring. Their flashlights were moving to cover every single inch of the vast expanse of the front lawn.
As Emily began to lose hope she hears Jeff call, "Can you come here?"
As she holds the buzzing metal detector, he digs.
And digs.
And digs.
Then he removes the entire blackberry bush.
There, below the roots and the soil and the rocks, lay his ring.
HOORAY!!!

I am getting really excited about spring arriving this year.
This is going to be my first spring to:
set up a sizable garden - so so so excited for this one!
spring clean a house that my husband and I live in
experience Midland TX
go to Ol' Sorehead Trade Days in Stanton
grow herbs in coffee tins in my grown-up kitchen
wear dresses my darling husband bought for me (he even helped pick them out... what a sweetheart)
put fresh flowers in my grown up house
go to Rockhounds baseball games
and hopefully knock out the list of DIY projects I have listed in my iPhone

I've got some doozies line out for crafty refurb/repurpose projects.more on that as they materialize.

So I was thinking about that ring getting lost. And then found. I thought about the parable Jesus tells about the lady who lost a coin and turned her place upside down looking for it. He was saying that is how the Lord seeks us out. Right?
It is crazy, everyone knows that sinking panic-y feeling when you realize you don't have something with you and you can't remember the last time you've had it. Plus you've been a bunch of places and it could be anywhere. I HATE that feeling. It makes me so sad. And so restless. Like my mind can not move onto any other topic until this is settled.
Can you imagine that as being the feeling that could propel us to seek out the lost souls who do not yet know Christ?
Hm... that could be pretty life changing.
